Woman Flips the Script on a Would be Hostage Taker, Makes him Strip to his Undies and Sit in the Corner

PONTIAC, Mich. – A Pontiac woman shared her story after a man who was on the run from police walked into her home and held her hostage for two hours.

Officers said they saw a man loitering in a gas station parking lot at 6:18 p.m. near W. Huron and Thorpe streets. Police said the man was walking up to cars in the parking lot and selling stolen credit cards.

Police approached the man, but he fled on foot. During the pursuit, police found 17 prepaid debit cards in the man’s path. They were unable to find the man.

Two hours later, police were called to the 60 block of N. Johnson for a reported break-in. The 43-year-old woman living at the home told police a man had walked into her home through an unlocked back door and told her the police were after him.

Sophia Herron said she grabbed the man and asked if he was there for her sons.

“He grabbed me. I instantly grabbed him, and I was, like, ‘What are you here for? Are you here for my sons?'” Herron said.

Herron said the man came after her into her own kitchen and told her she wasn’t free to leave.

“What he thought he was going to come in here and do to me, I turned it around and did it to him,” Herron said.

She said she told him to get up and strip his clothes and sit in a corner because they were both going to hold each other hostage. She said she made him sit in his underwear in the corner for two hours until her fiance came home and kicked him out of the house.
