Mobile phone shop worker attacked and forced to ground by gun-wielding robbers who left her with horrific injuries
Terrifying CCTV has shown a mobile phone shop worker being attacked and held in a headlock during an armed robbery that left her traumatised four months later.
Phone shop worker Citlalli Varela has been flooded with messages of support after she posted footage of her ordeal online.
Varela said she has still not come to terms over what happened and decided to post the message online to share it with others.
She said the incident happened on June 23 and posted the video with the message: “Today, now four months after being a victim of a lack of security and violence, I share these images and video of the assault.
“These men decided to assault and attack a woman because it was easier and they looked for the right moment to do it. It was two men against a woman, an easy fight for them,” she added.
“The main goal of this post is to make others aware of the sort of world we’re living in, one of violence and insecurity.”
The attack took place in the mobile phone store where she worked in the Mexican capital Mexico City at 10.30 am.
The footage, which has now it attracted almost 1 million views online, shows one of the thieves suddenly reaching through and grabbing the young woman, pinning her to the wall as his accomplice then climbs over the security barrier and jumps down to attack her.
He grabs her by the neck and forces her to the ground, before terrifyingly reaching through to his friend on the other side and taking a gun which he uses to force her to lay still.
As well as the video, she shared images of the bruising that she received to her arms and knees as a result of the attack.
And the young woman was amazed by the response with people flooding her with notes and sharing the footage.
