She captured the chaotic scene on a Facebook Live video stream and posted the video on her social media page. Family members also posted on Facebook, grieving the loss of Hart.
Police were called to O’Cielo Mexican Bar & Grill at 4672 American Way shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators found Hart shot dead on the scene. Another person was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
As police investigated, officers had to shut down the entire shopping center where the club is located, which is near the location of the former Mall of Memphis. The fire department sent three ambulances.
Minutes before the shooting started, the video, shows the woman sipping a drink, talking to the camera and chatting with friends. She started recording at 9:06 p.m. As the video continues, the loud music is suddenly punctuated with gunfire. The crowd scatters and screams can be heard.
The woman is knocked to the ground and says at one point that she has been shot in the hand and her arm may be broken. She appeared to have been knocked to the ground and trampled by the crowd as they fled the gunfire.
“Please everyone, I’m ok I just was stepped all over while I was on live couldn’t reach my phone I’m ok,” the woman posted at 10:49 p.m.
The names, ages and genders of the shooting victims have not been released by police.
Two people were shot in the same club on June 20, 2015. Both survived. No arrests have been made in the most recent shooting.
