A Perth grandmother has recounted the horrifying moment she was picked up and thrown from her bike by a stranger.

Madeline Roe was riding legally along the footpath of a street in the CBD on Friday when a man approached her and bumped into her in what she claims an unprovoked clash.

Ms Roe responded to the collision by saying ‘what the hell?’ to the man but CCTV footage shows that’s when things escalated.

The stranger grabs Ms Roe’s back wheel and throws her off the bicycle.

Ms Roe, who wasn’t wearing a helmet toppled face first into the pavement as the man who was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, khaki shorts, a hat and thongs strolls away casually.

The grandmother of two suffered grazes to her arms as she put them out in front of her for protection and requires further scans to determine the full extent of her injuries.

Ms Roe said that she has suffered abuse before while cycling but that this was the worst.

‘I have been abused on my pushbike before, spat at but this is the worst that’s ever happened to me,’ Ms Roe told 7 News.

Police are appealing for anyone who may know the man to contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
